All In A Days Work

All In A Days Work

We had a very long, very productive, and very fun day. It started off at about 8 A.M. and after loading up on tons of live Pinfish we headed South into the Atlantic looking to load up the cooler with some big Snappers. Our first spot gave us two and after a short move we positioned the boat and started to pick away at them catching, and missing, a lot more fish. We ended that trip at about 4 P.M. and had 9 or 10 mutton snapper up to 15lbs and a nice Amberjack. At 4:45 we left the dock again with two guys that have fished with me for years. Seeing as we had all those crabs in the pen we brought a few in hopes to hook up with a nice Permit. The first drift on the wreck we caught a monster Mutton and a 30lb jack with a live crab. After that we started hooking the Permits up two at a time. We landed 5 and lost 1. What a fight, these fish are brutal and beautiful. Next we ran East to put these guys on a big shark. Not 5 minutes in the shark rod was hit and we were hooked up with a 150 pound Caribbean Reef Shark. 35 minutes later we pulled in the boat for a quick picture. All the permit and the sharks were safely released using circle hooks.
