We went out twice, once on April 1 and again on April 3rd. Both days were great. On April 1 we hooked 7 amberjack and managed to land 3. One of the Amberjack was a very impressive 35 lbs. Karl Heinz who caught it had never fished before so his first fish was a very respectable introduction to fishing.

On April 3rd we went out for sailfish and tuna. The tuna fishing was spectacular. We landed 9 tuna and had three fish on at the same time. That is quite the high adenaline activity. My wife who had never fished before landed a tuna and was very happy about that. We hooked a sailfish and fought it for about 15 minutes before it swam straight at the boat and was able to shake the hook. We will have better luck next time we go out and we are definitely going to go out again.

Dan-
Thanks for the great trip out to the wreck. My boys had a great time catching Amberjack. I was impressed that every time we dropped a line we hooked a fish... But unfortunately now my kids think it's that simple. You made it look to easy. Next time we're going to do a full day and land ourselves a sailfish.

I had another memorable fishing adventure w/good friend Capt. Dan on March 27th, 2010!! Dan threw the net two times and loaded the baitwell w/live ballyhoo. We then set off to do some wreck fishing and we had hopes of catching some sailfish at the same time. We anchored in 190 ft and the current was ripping. Determined, we were forced to fish with 40 ounces of lead and 30 ft long leaders!! Once we got our gear situated and our baits in the water, we immediately started catching some bruiser mutton snapper in the 15-18 pound range along w/some large amberjacks. While at anchor, we drifted back some live ballyhoos and caught a good eating size dolphin and also missed a few. We also had a 7-8 ft great hammerhead put on a show at the surface attempting to eat our free lined baits. Shortly after, I hooked up on a HUGE sailfish (approx 90"-95" in length) while at anchor, bottom fishing at the same time!! Most boats at the dock only troll all day, well not Capt. Dan! We multi-task to put fish in the boat which is a successful and unique technique that Dan has mastered over the years. Dan tossed the anchor attached to a float and the chase was on. 45 minutes later, we landed my sailfish and took some amazing still shots and we then quickly released the fish. Once we set back up on the wreck, I fired down a live ballyhoo to the bottom and brought up a slab mutton in the 17 lb range 10 minutes after I released my sailfish!! Talk about worn out and I'm in terrific shape!! We then hooked up on a second sailfish which we caught and successfully released and saw two more sailfish at the surface which were uninterested as they migrated through against the Gulf Stream. What an incredible day on the water which I will NEVER forget!! Dan put me on some amazing fish which he has done for me time after time! The sailfish bite is HOT and the fish are there! The dolphin fishing is just now heating up and the wreck fishing is terrific year round in Key West. If you have the opportunity, fish w/Capt. Dan and write your own story on here. I guarantee you will NOT be disappointed, only rewarded. Good fishing to all and thanks again Dan for another amazing fishing adventure!!

Had a great 3/4 day with Captain Dan on March, 19. We started out flippin for Yellowtail and were quickly into the action. After about an hour and at least 30 Yellowtail, and a few Mackerel, we set out for deeper water and Amberjack. Once again, it wasn't long and we were on the fish. My buddy, Pete, and I each caught a couple 40lb ish Amberjack and were then ready to go back to light tackle! Sure enough Dan and Dave got us right back on the Yellowtail! Excellent equipment, great knowledge and a really enjoyable time - Thanks - we'll be back!

Hey Capt Dan,

We had a great time out on your boat Monday!! Although the sharks kept us from some of those big bottom fish, I had a great time battling those sharks, and it was very cool to boat, picture, and safely release that one. It's not often you can hold a live 4 ft shark in your arms!! That last blast of Mahi towards the end of the trip was great too, and made for a great dinner that night.
We had a great time that on the 2nd Nature thanks to you and your dad David.

Looking forward to our next trip!!
