Sailfish and Snapper

Sailfish and Snapper

Today we ran a 4 hour trip. We made a quick stop at the start for live bait. On our way out we made a stop to fish a wreck in about 85 feet of water for some Yellowtail Snapper. Right off the bat we landed two nice "Flag" Yellowtails. After the bite slowed we pushed offshore for about 45 minutes and hooked and released a Sailfish. The fight last about an hour and the four teenagers on our boat each got to take a turn fighting her. There isn't much better than watching someone catch their first sailfish. The fish hit a live Ballyhoo on the surface and was caught on a circle hook for the safety of the fish.
