Deep Water Snapper

Deep Water Snapper

Today we ran a 5 hour trip out front of Key West. The water was calm and there was barely any wind, perfect conditions besides a little heat. I started off in 190 feet along side a very large wreck. The first bait down was crushed by a nice 8 pound Mutton Snapper that we put in the cooler for dinner. We hooked a few sharks and when they became a pain we moved about a quarter mile to a small wreck in the same depth. Same thing here, the sharks ran us off. We slid out to 220 feet to fish some broken structure in the sand. Here we caught our limit of Vermillion Snapper, 5 per person. At the end of the trip we caught a huge Margate that weighed about 6 or 7 pounds.
