Tarpon Fishing In The Harbor

Tarpon Fishing In The Harbor

Today we had a full day trip and split the time in the harbor hooked up with big Tarpon and out of some patch reefs doing some snorkeling. First thing in the morning we ran to the sailboats in the harbor and picked out our favorite spot to set up in. After 10 minutes of chunking baits we made our first drift and hooked up. Thats kinda how the day went. We would hook up and fight a 100 pound fish, or more sometimes, for 45 minutes get a release than hook another one 10 minutes later. We repeated this 5 times and got 4 official catches. The last fish was the biggest and was an easy 130 pounds. After that our charter wanted to go out and do a little snorkeling. We headed West to look for some clean water and had some trouble. We finally found some good water with a depth of about 15 feet, perfect for what we were looking for. They swam around the rocks and coral heads for a few hours and we made a few moves in between.
