Spearfishing with Great Visibility

Spearfishing with Great Visibility

Yesterday my mate and I took the day off and spearfished with three good friends. We started our trip running West and finding clean water wasn't hard. The blue water pushed in and the conditions were amazing. Warming up in some shallower water we shot a few nice Hogfish, Mutton Snappers, a Porgy and Mangrove Snappers. After a little while we moved out to what we call the "Bar". The top of the Bar is about 35 feet but it drops fast to about 100 on either side. There the fishing picked up. We shot a bunch of nice Yellowjacks, two African Pompanos, and a 35 pound Kingfish. Every drift we made we saw walls of fish, including hundreds of Permit.
