Three Trips In Two Days

Three Trips In Two Days

Yesterday we had a 4 hour trip and a 6 hour trip. In the morning we had two guys that just wanted to get out on the water and catch some dinner for their family. We started off fishing in about 135 feet of water and caught a few Muttons on the bottom. While the chum was drifting back to a wreck a school of nice sized Yellowtails popped up and we jumped on the opportunity. Finished out the day with a lot of good eating fish and a few sharks mixed in to play around with.

The second trip was a family who had been planning a trip to fish for ever and everyone wanted to get involved. We started in about 220 feet of water and the action was pretty much non stop. It was hard to even keep two lines in the water because every bait sent down was hit. We caught Mutton snappers, Almaco Jacks, Sharks, and a monster Amberjack atleast 40 pounds.

Today we ran an 8 hour trip and it took some work but things came together. Two of the guys just wanted to catch something bigger than them and the third just wanted to get his fish cooked at one of my favorite restaurants in Key West. We had to move around a lot and deal with some less than favorable conditions. I worked from 210 feet in to 90 feet with two stops in between. We had some Yellowtails and Muttons in the cooler for dinner and caught another Amberjack over 40 pounds. The last fish of the day was a 100+ pound Bull Shark that was over 6 feet long. The shark hit a fresh Blue Runner that we caught a few minutes before in the chumline
