Yellowtails for dinner, Goliath Grouper for fun.

Yellowtails for dinner, Goliath Grouper for fun.

We had a family on the boat for a 4 hour trip today and they told us they would like enough fish to eat for dinner than try for something else just for fun. Our first spot was in 90 feet of water and we had the Yellowtails chummed up in our slick. Everyone got a few Yellowtails and added to the cooler. We also caught two smaller sharks here and lost a nice Mutton Snapper. After boating enough food for dinner we slid out into about 185 feet and started working the bottom. We had two rods down for Muttons or Groupers and one down for a big Shark or Goliath Grouper. Naturally we hooked a monster shark and goliath grouper on the two rods sent down for Muttons. After re rigging we tried again and got spanked by another Goliath Grouper on the big rod. The third time we did it right, it took 4 people but we got the fish off the wreck and up to the boat. After taking a few pictures we vented the fish and watched her swim safely back to her home
