29 Permit In The Last Three Days.

29 Permit In The Last Three Days.

Today we ran our 7th and 8th trip in the last four days. Every trip I have a game plan on what I am going to do, but when it comes to fishing you have to be able to switch up and adapt. Fortunately for us today everything went to plan, and I mean everything. The morning trip we wanted some Snapper to eat and some Permit to fight. First thing we set up a chum slick on a wreck and got the Yellowtails going. After about 25 or we pushed offshore and and started drifting crabs for Permit. We only got one but also caught a nice Mutton on a drift. Next we sighted the schools of Permit near the surface and pitched baits in front of them. We picked up another 6 like this.

In the afternoon we wanted to get monster Amberjacks and Permit again just because the style of fishing used to catch them is a blast. After each of the 4 guys on the boat caught their Permit we went to drop on Amberjacks. The first bait down was crushed and we ended up landing 6 of the 10 we hooked. All the fish were about 35 pounds. After, we slid back into a wreck and started sighting the Permits again. We got two more and landed another nice Mutton
