Yesterdays Trips

Yesterdays Trips

Yesterday we ran two trips, the first being a full 8 hour day. It started off hot with 3 Muttons hooked up in some deep water fishing a wreck. We ran into trouble with the current though here and after deciding we didn't want to use 40 ounces of lead to hold bottom we pushed into 120 feet. We got one Mutton here and a ton of sharks which the charter was very happy with. We fought a 7 foot Caribbean Reef Shark up to the boat also. Later we decided to try for Yellowtails the last hour and a half. Coming in to about 25 feet I set up and put the chum in the water. It wasn't long before we were catching them consistently. While Yellowtailing we caught a keeper Red Grouper and two more keeper Muttons, very nice catches on such light tackle.   The second trip was a 4 hour where we just focuses on big tails. After about two hours we had close to our limit of 60 Yellowtails in the cooler, not including all the small, but, legal fish we threw back. We got all the Tails fishing in front of a wreck in 90 feet
