Crazy About Muttons

Crazy About Muttons

While making a game plan with our guys today at the dock they told us one thing, big Snapper. They didn't care about the great Mahi Mahi bite going on in Key West, or the Blue Marlin that are popping up here and there in the blue water, they wanted the good stuff. I liked what I was hearing and we grabbed some live pinfish, chum, and a few live crabs just incase. The day started off with some nice bites but we quickly found ourselves down 0 to 3. That didn't stop us, we switched spots and started to grab some fish here and there. The first Mutton up was a monster, an easy 15 pounds. We released a nice Permit drifting a live crab back to the school. After getting a few more fish we moved out a little deeper for a try but ended up finishing in on a shallow wreck. Here we got a few more really nice Muttons, some Flag Yellowtails, and two Amberjacks. We made a few more tries at the Permit but we decided to leave them for another day and switch tactics on them a little.
